The two core concepts of participatory culture are closely related, one is a democracy and the other one is diversity. It embraces the values of diversity and democracy through all aspects of our interactions with each other. Participation does not only mean active participation, but it also involves becoming part of shared practice and culture. It supports and encourages participants to make their voices. A platform like Facebook or YouTube is a tool-participating community, sometimes used as a means of maintaining social connections or sharing cultural products with each other. Social media is changing the way people can publish their own opinion and also have their own voice. such as Twitter allow anyone to converse on any topic and have their perspective heard. In addition, Twitter gave an opportunity for people to have a debate and discussion. Before the internet and social media, traditional social media cannot have such a viral impact. It is emphases that technology provides a platform for equal opportunities, it makes anyone has the ability to make his own voice. However, Participatory culture also has disadvantages. Even if these new media platforms provide us with the availability to support a more participatory culture, and they often set limits on how to use or limit equality and meaningful participation. In addition, Participatory culture leads to negative outcomes of individual, community and publish life, such as error message can be uncontrolled and widely disseminated to mislead, manipulate or induce fear, a surge in hate speech and serious consequences.
